This new state-of-the-art animal care and adoption facility is designed to provide a calming environment for both animals and people, replacing an existing antiquated building. Design features promote animal wellness, including extensive natural light, stress reducing separation of animal areas and noise reduction features, and individual indoor kennels with access to exterior run spaces. The facility also includes welcoming indoor and outdoor animal adoption spaces, a pet clinic with veterinary services, and a small retail store with animal care products for sale. The project is currently tracking a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Silver Certification for its sustainable and high performance building features.
