Placer seeks public input on proposed Whitehawk I & II projects in Granite Bay
January 30, 2018
Placer County is seeking public input on the scope of the environmental review document for the proposed Whitehawk I & II projects in Granite Bay, with a public meeting set for Feb. 13.
Located on the south side of Douglas Boulevard, east of Sierra College Boulevard and west of Barton Road, the proposed projects involve the development of two vacant sites; a 24-unit planned residential development on 18.4 acres and a 55-unit planned residential development on 32.97 acres. Both projects would feature single-story, detached single-family residences on lots ranging in size from approximately 9,000 square feet to 15,000 square feet.
The county has released a notice of preparation for the project, available for public comment until Feb. 26.
The purpose of a NOP is to provide information about the proposed project and its potential environmental impacts to allow agencies and interested parties the opportunity to provide a response related to the scope and content of the project’s environmental impact report, including mitigation measures that should be considered and alternatives that should be addressed.
A scoping meeting will be held Feb. 13 at 2 p.m., at the Granite Bay Branch Library, 6475 Douglas Boulevard, in Granite Bay.
The facility for the meeting is accessible to people with disabilities. Those needing special assistive devices will be accommodated to the county’s best ability. For more information, please contact Shirlee Herrington (at the contact information below) at least 48 hours before the meeting.
The NOP is available for public review during normal business hours at the Placer County library in Granite Bay and at the Placer County Community Development Resources Agency, 3091 County Center Drive, Suite 190, Auburn, CA 95603. It’s also available online here.
Comments may be addressed by mail to the Placer County Community Development Resources Agency, Environmental Coordination Services, Attention: Shirlee Herrington, 3091 County Center Drive, Suite 190, Auburn, CA 95603; at the Feb. 13 meeting; or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org .
