Placer County Sheriff-Coroner-Marshal
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office serves the people of Placer County by providing law enforcement to the unincorporated areas, from the Sacramento County line to the Nevada state line at Lake Tahoe, plus providing contract law enforcement services to the city of Colfax and the township of Loomis.
The Sheriff’s Office also provides jail services, coroner’s services, court security, and marshal duties to the entire county. Our mission is to maintain the quality of life enjoyed here, and to ensure that our county is a safe place to live, work and visit.

VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) is a service that allows crime victims to obtain timely and reliable information about criminal cases and the custody status of offenders 24 hours a day. By helping to provide much needed equipment and training, not available through the budget, the Sheriff's Council is trying to make a difference.
